Vegas Downtown Blackjack Review
In a time when developers are focused on creating the most amazing slots, some don't forget table games fans. Microgaming is one of those developers who made table games players, especially blackjack fans, dreams come true, releasing a suite of blackjack variants at the end of the year. Vegas Downtown Blackjack is one of the several variants which were released, offering immersive gameplay and features that will provide you with the ultimate blackjack experience.
Just like the other variants in the suite, Vegas Downtown Blackjack was designed to redefine table games experience that we know of. Therefore, you should not be surprised to learn that the game combines good old features with a modern feel.
The well-known features Insurance, Double Down and Split are available in the game to provide you with a thrilling casino experience. The standard rules apply to the game, with some little twists. For instance, you can Double Down any two cards, contrary to other variants where you can only do it on the first two cards. Plus, you can Double Down after a Split, which also isn’t allowed in other variants. When it comes to splitting, Aces can only be Split once. When you Split an Ace, and you get a 10 value card, it is not Blackjack, but it counts like 21. You can split unlike 10 value cards. And finally, you can Split 3 times and make 4 hands! When the Dealer is dealt a 10 value and an Ace, it peeks for Blackjack. On soft 17, the Dealer hits.
Your hand stands if you have a Blackjack or a 10 value card and an Ace. If both yours and the Dealer’s hands are Blackjack or the same value, both hands push. Your hand wins if the Dealer’s exceeds 21 and goes bust.
The minimalist design putting the action at the forefront is evident from the minute you load the game. You can see that the table is green and that on it, in different fonts, the odds for the basic bets are written. Below the odds, you get the bet placing field. Below it, you get the Deal and Clear options. On their left, you can see the chips telling you the possible bets you can place. You have the paytable in the three-bar button in the top left corner, the settings and the “?” help button.
Even though the minimum bet you can place in Vegas Downtown Blackjack is $1, you can place way bigger bets, depending on your preference. You can place a $2, $5, $10, $20, $25, $50 and $100 bets, too. However, the maximum bet you can place per round is $200. The RTP in the game is 99.62%.
In terms of payouts, Vegas Downtown Blackjack is not different than other variants. You get 2:1 for an Insurance win, 1:1 for a standard win and 3:2 for a Blackjack win. You need to divide the odds and multiply them by your regular stake + your regular stake. That’s how you calculate your win. On a Push, you get your stake returned to you.
As you can see Microgaming’s Vegas Downtown Blackjack is similar to any other blackjack variant, with slight differences, of course. But the fact that the game is available on desktop, mobile and tablet devices, with seamless performance is what will motivate to try it out right away. And you should since it offers really exciting gameplay and excellent visuals.
