Alley Cats Slot Review
Alley Cats is one of the slot machines which were released by Microgaming, and it’s a title where the action revolves around a bowling competition, taking place in some alley. The cats are the ones bowling, and a dog is used as one of the bowling pins. The action in the slot looks like fun, especially with features that include scatters, a bowling bonus game, free spins and multipliers. You’re getting 20 paylines inside, and they are arranged on 5 reels. The big prize is worth up to $50,000.
Betting and Prizes
The slot’s 20 paylines will give you the same number of chances to win big, but first you need to use line bets which are as high as possible. You can have up to 20 coins for just one line, but don’t get too excited, the denomination only goes up to $0.25. That means that you can use $5 for each line, and you can spend $100 total for a single spin.
The Alley Cats slot’s big reward gives you back 10,000 times the line bet, so you can expect as much as 200,000 coins from it. That’s only a $50,000 top prize though, thanks to the low maximum denomination.
Alley Cats Slot Features
The game might lack wild symbols, but there is another one that can be just as useful. That one symbol is a scatter, with the Strike, showing you a logo and a bowling ball as it hits the pins. These symbols are capable of paying as scatters, but they’re limited compared to other slot machines, being required to appear from left to right, on adjacent reels. At least their position doesn’t matter, so you don’t need them on fixed lines.
Should you have 3, 4 or 5 Strike scatters on adjacent reels, you will first receive a prize of 2x, 10x or 100x the bet, and then you will also get one of the two possible features. One option is the bonus game, the one where you play a bit of bowling in the alley. The other option triggers 20 free spins, during which you get doubled payouts.
Theme & Design
The design of Alley Cats is a good one, in a cartoon style and offering you a chance to smile at the characters that are shown inside. You have various types of cats, and they’re shown as they’re enjoying a game of bowling. There are also things like trophies, trash bins and dogs that are tied up. The location is obviously an alley, an improvised bowling spot. I appreciated that all the symbols which were selected are proper ones for the theme.
Alley Cats video slot will be the kind of slot machine that you have fun with, but even though it can pay a 10,000x jackpot, I’m not happy with the number of features that it offers, or the fact that the scatter symbol is not as useful as in other Microgaming slots.
