Amazing Link: Apollo Slot Machine: Review & Demo

Amazing Link: Apollo Slot Demo

As a result of the collaboration between SpinPlay Games and Microgaming, we’re looking at a new slot machine being released, and it’s called Amazing Link: Apollo. We’ve seen the Zeus slot launch first, in the Amazing Link series, and this is the sequel. I can only assume that this is the start of a bigger series, inspired by the deities of Ancient Greece, and using the Amazing Link respins as a common point.

You will find 20 pay lines active on 5x3 reels of Amazing Link: Apollo. The game can pay very well once you reach its Mega Jackpot, with 5,000x the stake being the highest point it can reach. This is also a slot machine with medium to high volatility, but with a Return to Player at 96.40%. Several interesting features were implemented, ranging from regular and expanding wilds, to scatters, respins, and the free spins with Amazing Reels.

Amazing Link: Apollo Betting and Prizes

In regards to the betting strategy, the game has a standard range, allowing you to spend between $0.20 and $50 on each spin. In exchange, each of the 20 lines will receive a share of the wager, between $0.01 and $2.50.

The best payouts that this slot will offer, come from the Amazing Link respins, where a Mega Jackpot will pay 5,000x the stake when triggered, or up to $250,000. Regular combinations are disappointing by comparison, giving you up to 10x the stake per line, or 200x the stake total for a single spin. I’d note here, that the free spins do have much better odds of getting entire reels filled with wilds and scatters, so you could do a lot better there.

Expect medium-high volatility, but with a 96.40% RTP, provided that the operator didn’t choose a lower setting.

Slot Features

A major feature in this game, so much so that it gave it part of its title, is called Amazing Link. It is a respin feature, similar to the Hold & Win variants you see in a lot of other slots, so it doesn’t appear to be anything innovative. It triggers via 6+ scatter symbols, the ones showing random cash prize values on them. When this happens, the triggering scatters get held, and the other positions respin. You get either blank spots or new scatters there, for the duration of at least 3 respins.

When new scatters land, the respin feature resets, and you have 3 rounds to get through again. Once the feature ends, the prizes come from each of the scatters you collected, along with smaller fixed jackpot icons, and potentially even from a Mega Jackpot (paid when you fill all 15 positions with scatters).

Wilds are available in the game, and they are landing either in regular form, or expanded to cover entire reels. These are the top paying symbols of the slot (10x the stake per combo), and also act as substitutes.

Moving on, we have the free spins, which get triggered through 3 Temple scatters on the reels. You get only the option with 8 free spins and 1 Amazing Reel initially, but as you trigger it more times, the options will eventually also include 5 spins and 2 Amazing Reels, or 3 spins with 3 Amazing Reels.

The aforementioned Amazing Reels will feature only Amazing Link cash symbols, and wilds.

Theme & Design

Theme and design wise, it looks very much like a standard slot game that’s dedicated to Ancient Greece and its famous gods. It’s Apollo that gets the main role here, and we see him with a bow in his hands, in the wild symbols. Temples and the Sun act as scatters. Regular symbols include some related icons, with Horses, Pottery, Harps, but also a selection of Royals.

Conclusion

Amazing Link: Apollo is a decent game overall, without being truly extraordinary. You’re going to get some solid features, but they’re not unique to this slot.
