Amazing Link: Zeus Slot Review
Microgaming is preparing another launch on their platform, a new online slot which is an exclusive from SpinPlay Games, as many are these days. I’ve seen some strengths of this slot machine, but I’ve also seen some downsides and common features, which just happen to be available under a different name in Amazing Link: Zeus. Add a very common theme choice, using Zeus, the ruler of the Greek gods, and I’d say there are as many cons as there are pros.
Amazing Link: Zeus plays with the common 5x3 reels and 20 lines, which we tend to get from every slot machine these days. A top jackpot of 5,000x the stake is on the line, though that’s only during the Amazing Link bonus, and the base game offers at most 200x the stake by itself. What you end up with, is a game with a high volatility, 96.33% RTP, and a mix of features that includes the Amazing Link respins, free spins with a guaranteed wild reel, but also stacked wilds and random picking bonus games.
Amazing Link: Zeus Betting and Prizes
Amazing Link: Zeus can be played with a very low bet, $0.20 being the starting point for those that just want to test the waters. With bigger budgets coming into play, wagers of up to $50 are also a possibility, along with plenty of bets in-between those extremes.
You might be disappointed with the offer of Amazing Link: Zeus, if you’re looking only at its regular combinations. Land stacked wilds and cover all reels with them, and you get at most 200x the stake per spin (10x per line). However, the Amazing Link feature has better potential, up to 5,000x the stake.
Though a large part of the game’s potential is concentrated in its respin feature, the volatility is quite high, and the base game might feel unrewarding at times. RTP still ends up where it should be though, at 96.33%, which is good.
I always like seeing powerful wild symbols in games, and that’s definitely the case with the stacked symbols that you can get in Amazing Link: Zeus. Zeus himself is the substitute which can help you get more winning combinations. Even better it would be to get 3 to 5 Zeus symbols on a line, forming their own wins, since they pay as much as 10x the stake then.
Scattered Temple symbols are your way into the free spins mode. 3 or more are sufficient, to trigger 10 free spins. For their duration, you have an extra symbol, with Golden Orb wilds, which cover a different reel each round. Their presence gives you 3 of the 6 required Orbs, to trigger the Amazing Link Respins, plus they act as substitutes as well.
As I just mentioned, you need 6 or more Orbs to trigger the Respins. These you can get both during paid and free spins, though it’s easier for the latter. Triggering Orbs are sticky for the feature, and your aim is to land additional Orbs. Starting off with 3 respins, the game will reset their number whenever you get more symbols to stick. Manage to get all 15 Orbs, and you get the 5,000x jackpot. Otherwise, you receive smaller fixed jackpots or the cash prizes shown on the Orbs.
A second chance of sorts, to trigger a jackpot, comes from Zeus Pick. This bonus game can trigger at random, after regular spins or once you’re at the end of Amazing Link. It’s a regular picking feature, where by making selections you end up with three symbols of the same type, and a prize that is associated with them. This is the second way to get the slot’s fixed jackpots, including the Mega, which is worth 5,000x the stake.
Theme & Design
It’s not a great looking game, more of an average option unfortunately, similar enough to other slots which are based on Ancient Greece. Zeus is the ruler, and the stacked wild, while Orbs and Temples serve as its scatters. Regular symbols will revolve around images of Pegasus, Eagles, Harps, Urns and Royals (9 to A).
Amazing Link: Zeus looks interesting for players that enjoy the respin feature, something that we’ve seen way too many times in 2020 already. There is no shortage of slots using these respins, but this is one of the few that has two different ways to get the big jackpot to trigger.
