Ancient Warriors Slot Review
Ancient Warriors is one of quite a few slots to come from Microgaming’s collaboration with Crazy Tooth Studio, where the latter is the creator of the games that are exclusive to the giant’s collection. You are looking at a game with an Asian focus, featuring Chinese culture themed graphics for the most part. It does have some things that are unique to it, so it’s worth checking out overall, even if it doesn’t convince everyone.
Ancient Warriors delivers 4x6 reels, so it’s already an unusual game area, and one which provides you with 50 paylines. Wins of over 1,800x the stake are going to be a possibility for those trying out this slot machine, which has both High volatility and a 96% RTP. Among its features, you get options ranging from free spins, to scatters, wilds or stacked multipliers.
Ancient Warriors Betting and Prizes
The wagers you get to place will be selected for the entire game area, and the range for them is between $0.20 and $115, each round.
Moving on to the slot’s top payouts, we discover a game which offers up to 1,807x the stake in a single round. It’s not that impressive of a jackpot, particularly in a slot machine which is expected to have High volatility, like this one. Ultimately though, we are seeing a 96% RTP being announced in its case, so the slot isn’t as bad as it might seem at first.
First of all, you have the Feature Symbol, which you can get to show up and be transformed into another feature. There are two different modifiers that can result from its appearance, depending on where and how it lands. In some cases, you will get both modifiers at the same time, if the conditions are met.
To get the wild, the one showing the Yin Yang logo, you need 1-2 of the triggering symbols present and stacked 3 to 5 positions high. These are regular wild symbols, so nothing too special or interesting about them, even as they do become useful at times.
Second, you can also obtain a stacked multiplier, provided that you get the triggering feature icons as rows rather than columns. Up to 10x wild multipliers result from this, and the game’s potential looks much better then.
As for the free spins, those you get via the standard scatters, when these symbols land a minimum of 3 times on the reels. You get 5 free spins then, and if there are modifiers active, they will become sticky in their positions. Additional scatters will each give you one extra free spin, with the highest number of rounds possible being 10.
Theme & Design
It’s a good looking game, nothing to say there, but it’s also based on a very common Chinese theme, which we’ve seen plenty of times before. The different type of design does make it a much more attractive choice than many of its competitors though, since it’s not just the usual cookie cutter game.
The symbols which show up inside will range from the four top Royals, to the Yin Yang wilds, feature symbols, scatters, monkeys, cats and serpents.
Ancient Warriors is going to be an interesting option for a lot of players, particularly if they’re interested in the Asian genre in the first place. It’s a game which doesn’t quite match its top prizes with its volatility, but the RTP checks out, so that’s not a reason to ignore it.
