Arctic Magic Slot Review
After releasing Arctic Valor slot earlier this year, Microgaming is going to have a brand new title set in the same region of our planet, and it’s called Arctic Magic. A game with high volatility, but only medium top payouts, it handles the graphics in the right way, but I think there is room for improvement in other areas.
Arctic Magic is designed as a slot machine with 5 reels, but only 9 active lines. A highly volatile release, it’s getting top payouts of only 3,333x total stake, or about $150,000. You don’t get the most original features around either, but there is no questioning the value of free spins with 3x multipliers, while wilds and scatters trigger their own features and pay you directly as well.
Betting and Prizes
When it comes to the game’s bets, you will have to select them in a range which starts from $0.09 and can end up at a maximum value of $45. Since 9 fixed lines are in play, it’s easy to figure out that bets of $0.01 to $5 will be going to each of them.
The rewards are of decent size, and the game does pay up to 3,333x the round’s stake back to you. For this particular slot machine, the rewards could reach a maximum value of $150,000.
At the same time, even though the game can pay quite a bit, particularly for a slot from Microgaming, its volatility is also considered High. This means that it’s fairly risky to play. Long-term, the game is expected to have a return of 96.10% to the player, which is about what you’d expect.
Arctic Magic Slot Features
One of several regular features that the game introduces, the wild symbol will have a 2x multiplier to apply, but otherwise it’s a fairly common option. You can use it as a substitute, and it will be of help quite a bit. The scatter is not going to benefit from the wild’s presence in any way.
Snowflakes are turned into scatters here, and they may be used from random positions, but they can trigger their feature only when at least three are visible. Get those scatters in view, and you trigger 15 free spins, while getting paid 500x total stake.
The great thing about the free spins which are available in this game, is that they come with a multiplier, which will boost wins by 3x. This is the point where a top payout of up to $50,000 can be turned into one worth $150,000.
Overall, I found nothing to be impressed with here. Games with common features and multipliers are way too easy to find these days, so it’s difficult to get excited about this game.
Theme & Design
Arctic Magic features Northern Lights in the background, with ice covered mountains and landscapes, just the thing to see in that part of the world. You have mostly a combination of ice-made Royals and various wildlife icons on the reels. The latter will include reindeer, foxes, rabbits, wolves, polar bears, along with the game logo and the snowflake.
It’s not a bad looking design, they did a decent job with it, so I appreciate that part, even though the story/theme is as common as the rest of it.
Arctic Magic delivers good top payouts, has a list of solid features, and it does alright overall, even though there is nothing too original or exciting about it otherwise.
