A brand new developer, Circular Arrow, has just released their first slot machine, which is called Ark of Ra. This is a Games Global exclusive (they bought Microgaming’s business). We’ve seen quite a few developers go this route, and Circular Arrow joins them with a decent new slot, though it’s not something that would revolutionize the industry.

The payouts of up to 1,000x, or the medium volatility, also mark it as a game that’s designed to be acceptable for as many players as possible. Slot Features

Thanks to the wild symbol, you are going to be able to form winning combinations more easily. The substitution ability comes in handy, but it’s the wild’s own combinations that are worth the most, paying 50x the stake (vs 15x for a regular symbol’s combo).

A very simple, but powerful feature, the Coin Collection is done for every single reel. They each require 2 Coins collected from the same reel, to add a Wild Reel for the next 2 rounds.

There are also scatters, used to trigger a free spins pick when there are three symbols on the reels. You get one of the three options, with either 25 spins and 1 wild reel, 8 free spins with 2 wild reels, or 2 free spins with 3 wild reels.

Theme & Design

The Ancient Egypt-themed design is far from unusual, on the contrary. As a first slot machine, Ark of Ra doesn’t give us a very interesting story, but at least the quality of the design is above average. With an initial four symbols showing Royals, we then move on to images of the Ankh, Eye of Ra, statues with Horus and Anubis, along with larger representations of the two deities.

Conclusion

Ark of Ra manages slot to deliver a pretty good selection of features, and it’s coming with volatility that’s at the right level to make it appropriate even for beginners. Quite a few players will not be happy with the level of its top payouts though.
