Assassin Moon Slot Review

Assassin Moon Slot Big Image

Assassin Moon is a future slot release from Triple Edge Studios and Microgaming, whose action revolves around a gorgeous assassin from Monte Carlo, called Luna. The Moon is nonetheless a center figure in many of the images you’re about to see, and the end result is a gorgeous-looking slot machine which delivers the expected visuals, alongside big wins.

The game has 5x3 reels and gives you 25 active lines. Form the right combinations, or go through its main feature, and you could be looking at payouts of up to 5,000x the stake ($500,000). They’ve made sure to keep it fair, using a 96.08% RTP for it. As for the big features that you could encounter, they range from wilds and scatters, to free spins and a HyperHold bonus game.

Assassin Moon Betting and Prizes

There is no need to worry about line bets or coin denominations, the only requirement is for you to decide on the total amount which will be used. The range offered is between $0.10 and $20.

Use the HyperHold bonus, and the game could deliver a jackpot of up to 5,000x the stake. Though not very likely to happen, Assassin Moon does have that option, where you reach the absolute best case scenario in its main feature, and get that payout.

One thing to always look at, the Return to Player tells us how fair the game is in the long run. Here, with a 96.08% average return expected over its entire life, the game is about as expected.

Slot Features

Luna, the gorgeous female assassin, is the star in this case, used as a wild that can participate in various new combinations that you will form with regular symbols. It’s stacked, so there is a decent chance that you could end up with full reels covered by this symbol.

There are 10 free spins as well, and to those you can get access to when you have a minimum of three scatters in view. It’s a common way to get such a feature, and the resulting free spins will be a welcomed bonus. Get a Jumbo-sized scatter in this mode, and the feature gets retriggered with another 10 rounds to get through.

The major feature here, and the one with the highest potential, is the one called HyperHold. We see it under various other names in similar slots, including Hold and Win, so it’s not something that is unique to it, despite the new name.

Triggering this feature is possible if the Moon symbols land at least six times on the reels. Since you need so many of them, whenever there are fewer these will act as blockers, which is unfortunate. Once you do get into the feature, the triggering Moon icons are going to become sticky, and then there will be 3 spins to get through.

The aim in this bonus game is to land additional Moon symbols. Those are the only ones kept on the reels, and if there are new ones that show up, the number of spins resets. Once the feature is over, you can end up with the 5,000x jackpot (if you fill the reels with Moon symbols), or one of the smaller fixed jackpots, along with the regular cash prizes delivered by each Moon symbol.

Theme & Design

It’s a life of luxury in a way, at least what’s what it looks like if you’re checking out the background image which shows us Monte Carlo, or many of the top symbols which are used. Luna, the main character, is a top assassin which resides in that city.

We see the Moon in some of its symbols, along with icons with scatters or Luna Wilds, assassination targets, sports cars, cocktails, dice, plus a mix of low value Royals.

A good overall design, very well made, and with obvious attention paid to the little details.

Conclusion

Assassin Moon should be an appealing high volatility option in Microgaming’s slots collection, one of the better paying slots that they offer. However, despite the use of a new HyperHold bonus game, it’s actually a feature that is quite common in modern slots, too much so actually, so it’s not as unique as it might seem at first.
