Released by Microgaming, Cash Clams is one of those classic slot machines which you see everywhere these days, but it has a small advantage in the features which it offers, with wilds which can apply multipliers in certain situations. Clams are known for creating pearls, but in this game we get one that is filled with gold coins and surrounded by green dollar bills. While the design is slightly different from most, I still wouldn’t call myself impressed with the end result. It’s the kind of game that has 3 reels and 1 line. Its jackpot is at $25,000.
Betting and Prizes
The game only needs 1 coin to get started, for its 1 payline. You do have the option to double the wager though, and use 2 coins for that same line. The denomination of the coin is between $0.25 and $5, so you can wager with $10 per spin of the reels.
As it often happens, wagering with the maximum number of coins will get you a bonus in the top jackpot, which is worth 5,000 coins, or $25,000. If only one coin is used, you can only win 2,000 coins, or $10,000.
Cash Clams Slot Features
The Cash Clam symbol is the one chosen to take a big role in this slot machine, to act as a wild symbol, not just form combinations of three symbols and pay the jackpot. When you use the wild symbol for its substitution role, you also get a multiplier for the win.
A 2x multiplier is used on any win which has a single wild in it, so the other two need to be matching regular symbols.
You get a 4x multiplier when there are two wilds on the payline, with a third regular symbol for the win to be modeled after.
Theme & Design
The game has a design that is a weird mix of sea life and gold. The main symbol is that clam which is filled with riches, while the lowest paying symbol is a Lobster. Between them, the paytable gives you the 1, 2 and 3 Gold Bar symbols, plus a gold 7 which is surrounded by tiny gold clams. It is a bit more elaborate than the typical classic slot machine, but not by a lot. In the end, it’s still a 3 reel title with classic symbols making up more than half of the line-up.
Cash Clams will probably be a game that you will give a chance if you’re intrigued by its theme, but otherwise it doesn’t have a real advantage over other 3 reel slots.
