Games Global’s next release is Diamond Discovery, one of the many gold-mining-themed slot machines available right now. The difference is that it comes from SpinPlay Games this time, and they did their best to add their own twist to its features.
Diamond Discovery offers only 40 active lines, even though there is room for much more on those 5x4 reels. I’m quite happy about its 25,000x jackpot, the 96.47% RTP, and the features that are available (Random Reveal, wild symbols, free spins, and the Piggy Pays jackpot). The high volatility doesn’t do the same for me.

Slot Features
Part of the game’s core mechanics, the Random Reveal is similar to a mystery feature. It simply turns the rock symbols into regulars, wilds, or Diamond scatters.
The Miner Wilds are useful even in their regular form, but only when they turn into Diamond Wilds will they also replace the jackpot scatters. Either way, all types of wilds will help you form regular combinations.
For a chance at the big prize, you need anywhere between 5 and 20 Diamond scatters visible at the same time. This can lead to wins of up to 10,000x the stake, to which they can add the Piggy Pays jackpot as well.
The Piggy Pays meter collects the Diamond symbols when they land up to 4 times, so not enough to trigger a prize. To collect the extra prize from the Piggy Pays meter, you need 8+ Diamonds.
Finally, you can also get between 10 and 50 free spins, without the option to retrigger them. In this mode, you are always getting Diamond Wilds instead of regular Wilds, so you have better odds of triggering a jackpot.
Theme & Design
Taking us deep inside a gold mine, it looks like a 19th-century operation. There are barrels of TNT, an old miner with a pick axe, but also shovels, a pan, mining carts, or oil lamps. Some are regular symbols, others are special features, but none stand out in a real way.
Conclusion
For a gold mine-themed slot machine, Diamond Discovery does enough to attract players through features and big prizes. The theme and the standard design don’t do anything for me.
