Dragon’s Breath Slot Machine: Review & Demo
Rabcat and Microgaming are releasing a new slot game together, an exclusive that is called Dragon’s Breath. With gorgeous graphics that will place the action in a fantasy setting, and with a huge dragon in the main role, it leaves a good first impression. It then follows through with a mix of impressive features. Overall, a fairly accessible game in terms of risk involved.
Dragon’s Breath is a slot machine that offers a large game area, 5x5 reels being present, and it has a Cluster Pays system in place that allows for wins to come your way. Those wins don’t go very high, up to 1,250x the stake, but that’s acceptable in a medium volatility slot, which has a 96.06% RTP. Some of the features include wilds, Double and Triple Flames (cloned reels), along free spins with special wilds.
Dragon’s Breath Betting and Prizes
The full betting range in Dragon’s Breath will go from $0.20 to $200. While there are no regular lines, it appears to simulate the presence of 20 of them, with up to $10 wagered on each one.
We’ve seen slots with much better rewards than those promised in Dragon’s Breath. 1,250x the stake ($250,000) is the highest that the game will go, which would be low for a lot of modern releases. Here, with the volatility being only a medium, it’s acceptable.
Another figure that’s always worth looking into, is the RTP level, which at 96.06% is about as good as you can hope to get.
Slot Features
The Cluster Pays system gives you 25 symbols in total, and you will need at least 6 grouped up in a cluster, in order to get paid. Both the number of symbols and their type, are considered when deciding how much you win.
Some help may come from the wild symbols when landing on the reels next to matching symbols. They substitute for whatever symbol is next to them if this gets you a new cluster or an improved one.
Double Flames is a feature with cloned reels, where the 2nd and 3rd columns are in sync and can bring you big wins.
Triple Flames is another version for it, where you have the middle three reels cloned and capable of triggering excellent wins.
Through scatters, which need to land on 3+ reels in a single round, you can get up to 16 free spins. Getting more scatters retriggers the feature.. In this mode, you get up to 11 Burning Wilds to land every two rounds, in random positions, through the dragon’s breath which covers the reels.
Theme & Design
Dragon’s Breath gets a theme that a lot of players will love, featuring a medieval dragon in the main role. You see mountains in the distance, and a red/gold dragon sits right next to the reels, getting a more active role during the free spins. The design quality is excellent, definitely one of the more modern slots I’ve seen lately, a trait that a lot of Rabcat releases have in common.
If you check out the low symbols you will find a selection of gemstones, while the premium positions get crowns, the dragon, dragon’s claw, dragon’s eye (scatter) and dragon logo (wild).
Conclusion
I enjoyed a lot of things about Dragon’s Breath, and one of them is the medium volatility rating, which makes it a lot more accessible than most Microgaming slots released these days. The downside is that it doesn’t pay much in a best-case scenario.
