Elven Gold Slot Machine: Review & Demo

Elven Gold Slot Demo

An ancient and proud people, the Elves appear to have accumulated great riches, over the many millennia that they’ve been around. That’s the idea that Microgaming and Just For The Win are trying to sell us, in their latest slot, called Elven Gold. Designed to appeal to players with a lot of experience, and loads of luck on their side, it features a mix of Elf and classic themed symbols, along with high volatility.

You’re going to find that 5x4 reels are deployed in Elven Gold, and that they use 40 active lines. Wins of 15,000x the stake are the ones you’re after in this case. Highly volatile, it makes sure that long-term the RTP is kept at an acceptable 96.10%. As for the main features that they’ve used, it’s a slot that relies on the W wild, Owl scatters, and the Free Spins scatters, along with their feature.

Elven Gold Betting and Prizes

Once you select the wager, which is found within a range of $0.20 to $15, you’re good to go.

With the Owl scatters doing the heavy lifting, Elven Gold can deliver a jackpot of 15,000x the stake, though you’re going to need a lot of those triggering symbols, in order to get that kind of return.

As the jackpot suggests, this is not going to be easily accessible to all. Highly volatile, Elven Gold will get a 96.10% RTP though, so it’s fair overall, even if individual players are likely to have to suffer through it.

Slot Features

First, let’s check out the most basic feature of all, the simple wild, taking the form of a W logo, set in gold. Use it as a substitute, and it can help you with the formation of various lower value wins. Long-term, it’s quite powerful, even if it doesn’t have the multipliers present in other slots.

Second, you’re going to want access to the free spins, and the way to get there is through the feature’s own logo scatter. Get three, on the middle reels, and you’re going to win 3 free games. It’s unusual, because you reset the feature whenever at least one new scatter lands. Scatters are collected for as long as the free spins continue. At the end, each one pays, and it’s as much as you can expect from the Owl scatter’s jackpot (up to 15,000x the stake).

Owl scatters are used only for this purpose, even in the base game, to trigger the slot’s jackpots. Get 4 to 12 Owls on the reels, and the rewards delivered to you will range from 1x to 15,000x the stake.

Theme & Design

There will be enough Elf-related symbols and background imagery, but it’s not all you will see. The other side of the design relies heavily on classic symbols and gemstones, so they definitely could’ve done more to deliver the image of the Elven kingdom that maybe you were expecting (I know I was). Even with the classic symbols, the game looks good, and the style is appropriate for the theme it takes on.

Its list of symbols gets the W logo as the wild, an Owl as a scatter, and a Free Spins logo as the feature trigger. We then find the stacked Elf woman, the three versions of the Bar logo (classic symbols), and four types of gemstones.

Conclusion

Elven Gold looks fairly interesting, so it should be a slot machine that people will want to try. If nothing else, the 15,000x jackpot is one that should motivate players. I’m not sure that the features are going to be enough though, many of the high volatility options will have better ones.
