Fire Forge Slot Machine: Review & Demo
An independent studio which collaborates with Microgaming, releasing slot machines as exclusive titles on their platform, Stormcraft Studios is the one behind Fire Forge. They’ve created a fairly average looking design for it, but the dwarfs working on the forge are the owners of some incredible treasures, as you’re about to find out when you read about the slot’s potential.
For its game area, they chose the one with 5x3 reels which deliver 243 ways to win, so every single line is covered. You are going to get paid up to 50,000x the stake, though that’s only possible once you get up to 200x multipliers. Free spins, Rolling Reels, scatters, wilds, even a Jackpot bonus game, these are all mentioned as its main features. Highly volatile, this slot has a 96.73% RTP.
Fire Forge Betting and Prizes
Don’t expect a high roller’s betting range from this one. $0.25 to $5 is the available area that you have to stay in, when picking the bet for the upcoming round.
In exchange, Fire Forge is capable of paying a huge top jackpot, though that’s not likely to happen for the vast majority of its players. With high volatility, but with about 1 in 3 spins being a winner, and a 96.71% RTP promising that it will be quite fair, it is ultimately capable of paying as much as 50,000x the stake in one spin. For that though, you will need to get to the free spins, where multipliers of up to 200x can apply, even to the Jackpot game.
Slot Features
One of the mechanics that will help some players make a profit, will rely on the Rolling Reels system. It’s popular these days, particularly in games with ways to win, and for good reason. It helps you keep your winning streak, by taking away winning symbols and sending new ones in for the empty locations. For as long as new combinations are forming, the Rolling Reels keep doing their thing, and you don’t have to pay anything extra.
Some help will come from wild symbols, which are showing the Fire Forge logo. You can get these either regular-sized (reels 2-5) or stacked (3-5). Either way, they’re combined with regular symbols, to form new wins.
The image showing the form of a dwarf made out of molten metal, that’s your scatter. You need this one landing on the five reels at the same time, to give you a choice, for the free spins which come next.
- 12 free spins, starting from 1x for the first spin and going up by 1x after each one.
- 6 free spins, starting from 3x and going up by 3x per spin.
- 3 free spins, starting from 6x, and going up by 6x per spin.
You get as high as 18x with the multipliers that way, but if you retrigger the free spins, you get a similar number of rounds as you chose initially. The multiplier keeps going up as well. Retrigger the free spins enough times, and you could go up to 200x, since that’s where the limit is placed.
The Jackpot bonus is triggered at any point, via special scatters appearing on all reels, at least 5 times. Those use the multiplier from the triggering spin, so while they may pay only up to 200x the stake during paid spins, they are allowed to go as high as 50,000x if the free spins give them enough of a boost.
Theme & Design
We’re going deep underneath a mountain, visiting a forge that’s manned by dwarfs. They’re working hard, if we go by the huge piles of gold coins shown to the left side of the screen. Otherwise, there isn’t enough added in to flesh out the story, it’s too basic and relies mostly on the objects used by these creatures.
The symbols show us logos or Dwarf-like representations for its feature symbols, along with images of beer steins, oil lamps, gloves, anvils and hammers. The rest are the icons with the four types of gemstones.
Conclusion
Fire Forge looks pretty good, as far as features and potential are concerned, but it’s not going to offer anything too unique, and the graphics are disappointing if we compare it with other new Microgaming slots. I’d imagine that having a 50,000x jackpot to go after will make plenty of players give it a shot anyway though.
