Fish Em Up Slot Machine: Review & Demo
There seem to be about a dozen new monthly collaborations between Games Global and various small independent studios. In this case with Snowborn Games, the result is a fishing-themed slot machine. It’s called Fish 'Em Up, and while it’s not entirely original, it has charm and interesting mechanics that people have proven themselves interested in.
You’re looking at 20 active lines available on 5 reels. The slot pays as much as $250,000, or 5,000x the stake. Since it pays well, it’s reasonable for its volatility to be high. As for the returns, the max RTP is 96.11%, but you may be playing at a lower setting if you’re not paying attention. You also get a couple of features out of it, going from the wild to scatter symbols and from multiplier boosters to free spins.
Fish 'Em Up Betting and Prizes
Spending as little as $0.20, or as much as $50, will allow you to play one spin of Fish 'Em Up.
They allow for rewards of up to 5,000x the stake to be paid, and the cap is set to $250,000 for someone relying on the max bet. Not unusual in a highly volatile slot machine; if anything, I’d expect even better prizes.
The RTP range goes as high as 96.11%, but it’s not guaranteed that you will play at that level.
Slot Features
Some rarer features are present in Fish 'Em Up, but the wild symbol will not be one of them. It can be immensely useful as a replacement symbol or creating combinations where it pays up to 100x the stake directly.
The Catch Wins will allow you to collect the fish symbols with prizes on the side. These could pay up to 50x the stake each, and you need a collect symbol visible on the last reel to claim those rewards. With help from a Booster (visible at the top), you can improve wins from these fish prizes. To improve the Booster, you need a 1 Up symbol to land.
The main feature would deliver the free spins, where you use fish symbols and boosters, which come in handy if the collect symbol drops.
Theme & Design
You do get decent-quality graphics out of Fish 'Em Up, but there isn’t anything unusual about this slot machine. You see a lighthouse in the distance and the fisherman closer to the reels in his boat. The reels get populated with the fisherman’s tools of the trade, so there are bobbers, fishing reels, lures, or a tackle box.
Conclusion
Fish 'Em Up slot manages to deliver powerful features, and while there is nothing here that we haven’t seen before, I’d still recommend it if you can find it at the max RTP.
