Games Global has just the slot machine for you for a trip down memory lane. The sequel to another classic that Microgaming released back when they were running the show, Froot Loot 3-Reel, adds to the number of lines, but otherwise, they’ve kept pretty much the same experience. It’s not pretty, but it’s what you would’ve gotten a couple of decades ago in Las Vegas, so some appreciate the genre.
You’ll get 5 paylines on 3 reels, and with the right payline getting the top symbols, wins of up to 500x the stake are possible (up to $250,000 will be paid). It’s not a big return, and the volatility is high, so the 95.75% RTP isn’t doing much to convince us to enjoy the experience. It doesn’t have big features either, though the multiplier wilds that can improve regular combinations do pack some power behind them.
Froot Loot 3-Reel Betting and Prizes
The range of the bets available inside is big enough that it allows all players to try it out. $0.10 is the smallest wager allowed, and $500 is the largest.
While regular combinations pay up to 480x the stake, the cap on winnings appears to be set to 500x. With the maximum bet active, rewards of up to $250,000 are on the table. I’m not impressed with the high volatility and the 95.75% RTP, particularly at the kind of top jackpot that we’re promised.
The hit rate is 23.72%, so on average, they expect 1 in 4 spins to bring you a winning combination. It’s on the low side as well.
Slot Features
Froot Loot 3-Reel does have one major feature, even though it’s based on a classic design. The Diamond, a top-paying symbol, is also the multiplier wild. While three of these will pay 200x to 480x the stake (lines 1 to 5 pay differently when it comes to the top symbol), having one or two Diamonds on a line will allow them to substitute that improve wins by 2x or 4x, respectively.
Unless you count the possibility of forming combinations with mixed fruit symbols as another feature, that’s about it for the extras offered in Froot Loot 3-Reel slot.
Theme & Design
The classics have a dated look these days, as slot machine graphics have evolved tremendously, particularly for the online market. It won’t look appealing to most online slot players, but the classic look requires this sacrifice. The symbols include a Diamond, Crown, Watermelon, Grape, and Strawberry.
Conclusion
Froot Loot 3-Reel delivers the right image for a classic slot machine, and the experience is not too far off from the original. I’ve never enjoyed the differentiated top prize based on the line number that the combo is formed on, so that’s one thing I’m not happy to see again in a new slot.
