Goldaur Guardians Slot Review
A game which is available at Microgaming casinos, Goldaur Guardians is developed by Alchemy Gaming, an exclusive partner for the giant. They’ve come up with a fantasy themed slot machine, which has a story that revolves around the guardians of some magical fairy land. This one does the design right, which is something that Microgaming doesn’t have a lot of luck with, but the list of features is not going to be very long, so as usual, there are some cons to note as well.
5x3 reels will get 20 paylines, which is no surprise for a slot machine. Even so, Goldaur Guardians will be capable of paying as much as 1,000x the round’s stake, or up to $100,000 cash. It’s an acceptable payout for a game with a 96.36% RTP, though I would expect the volatility to be medium in this case. Among the big features that were added, I will mention the wilds and scatters, along with the paid Hyperspins, the free spins and their giant symbols.
Goldaur Guardians Betting and Prizes
Up to $100 is available for wagering, which means that the highest line bet possible is going to be $5. At the other extreme, a minimum bet of $0.20 per spin, and $0.01 per line, will be available. Plenty of other options will be available within those two extremes.
If you’re looking to get rich in a slot machine, then perhaps Goldaur Guardians will not be the best choice for you. It’s not going to have bad payouts, but a 1,000x jackpot is not even close to what’s possible in a slot machine. It all depends on the amount of risk you are willing to take on. For this particular game, the RTP looks acceptable, at 96.39%.
Not exactly a feature, more of an optional mechanic that you need to pay extra for, the Hyperspins are used in several other Microgaming slot machines. They allow you to respin individual reels, in the hopes that you will get certain symbols. This is available once a paid spin has completed, and each reel that you can respin will have a different cost associated with this action. It will be a different cost to respin a reel that can result in a 3-symbol combo being formed, compared with a 5th reel respin that could get you several top jackpot combinations.
Moving on to the regular features of Goldaur Guardians, the wild symbol is the main one that you will encounter while you’re going through the paid spins. It’s the one that pays the most for a single combo, up to 50x total stake each time, but it can also be a substitute for those very low value combinations. Either way, it tries to help with combo formations, whenever it can.
The other big feature, the free spins, will trigger via Golden Tree scatters, with up to 10 rounds available depending on how many symbols showed up that round. Here, you play with the hero symbol on the first two reels, and with random giant symbols on the next three. It can be an impressive payout ultimately, though as always, that’s not guaranteed or even likely to happen.
Theme & Design
The story apparently goes, that a land of fairies is being protected by elf guardians, and the two types of characters will be your symbols in this slot. With fairies in low value symbols, and with the four guardians as top paying icons (Alanelo, Lila, Diana and Oberon), we then move on to the feature icons, which give us a Golden Tree for a scatter, and a W logo for the wild.
I really liked the graphics of Goldaur Guardians, I think it’s one of the slot’s main strengths.
Goldaur Guardians looks impressive, and for me it’s going to be one of the better looking slots that have launched with Microgaming lately. The list of features is fairly short and not that uncommon, but it’s been changed enough, that it can still be fun and interesting when you get them.
