Golden Princess, a Microgaming slot machine, will give you access to an experience which is built around the idea of the Aztec Princess. South America’s long lost civilizations have often been chosen by slot developers, and it usually has something to do with riches. Golden Princess is no exception, and many of its symbols and decorations appear to be made out of precious metals. The warrior and the princess of the Aztecs are both present among the symbols. You will encounter a wild symbol, a scatter, multipliers, free games and you will get a chance to win $25,000 while placing your bets on the slot’s 25 lines.
Betting and Prizes
From the Bet section, placed at the bottom, you will be allowed to change the number of active lines (1 to 25), the number of coins per line (1 to 10) and their value (up to $0.50). If you put it all together, you find out that you can spend up to $5 per line, and the total bet can go up to $125.
The Princess symbol is responsible for bringing you the top prize, and you can expect to get from it up to $25,000, provided that you’ve used the right size wager of course. If the wild assists you, a 2x or 3x multiplier can be applied in the base game.
The Golden Princess logo, with a temple pyramid in the background, is the symbol which the slot uses as a wild with a random multiplier attached. Getting it during the base game as a substitute will also apply a 2x or 3x multiplier to the win. It is a wild which is used on all the reels. It doesn’t substitute for scatter symbols though.
The Treasure Chest is the scatter, a symbol that you get in any position, and as long as you have 3 or more you can get 10, 20 or 30 free spins from it. For each scatter symbol that makes an appearance during the free spins, you will be offered a mystery pay, worth up to 10x the bet. Free spins get stacked wild symbols. Unfortunately, there is no opportunity to retrigger the free spins once you get them going.
Theme & Design
The Aztec theme is visible in many of the symbols, but also in the surrounding decorations. The reels are placed on the side of a temple that is made entirely out of gold. The symbols are either poker cards, made out of gold and with subtle colored borders around them, or they’re with characters dressed in Aztec clothing, with leopards, treasure chests or panthers.
The game looks good, and it has decent features and payouts. The only downside is the theme choice, which is common for the industry.
