Hyper Strike Slot Review
Microgaming’s Hyper Strike is available thanks to Gameburger Studios, a developer that’s been working on several slot machines as part of their partnership with the giant. They are relying on a couple of modern features, even multipliers, but they’re adding a classic theme here that not everyone will be a fan of. Otherwise, not a bad game, based on the numbers and features we’re seeing used.
20 active lines are present on its 5x3 reels. Through them, or through one of the fixed jackpots that the game will deliver, wins as high as 2,000x the stake are a possibility. RTP is 96.24%, volatility is medium, and this tells us that the target audience for this slot machine is a fairly wide one, composed of both casual and veteran players. Among its main features, I’d mention the free spins which have up to 3x multipliers, but there are also a couple of scatters, plus the top paying wilds.
Betting and Prizes
20 coins will be used for each round’s wager, and the amount that they re quire ranges from $0.01 to $3 per coin, or $0.20 to $60 total per spin.
A good prize can be obtained in several ways. The regular winning combinations will pay up to 125x the stake per line, when wilds are the ones covering it fully. Add the 3x multipliers which the free spins can deliver, and use all the lines available, and the potential is obvious.
The game’s top prize seems to be worth about 2,000x the stake, which is also the amount that you can get from the Hyper Strike bonus. The cash value of the top prize appears to be $120,000.
It’s not a bad top jackpot, and especially so for a game where volatility is medium. There is a good balance there, between the risk involved and the size of the prize one can take home. RTP is also acceptable, at the 96.24% we’ve seen quoted.
Hyper Strike Slot Features
Moving on to the special features, the Gold Star Wild is one of the best ones available. In addition to its role as a substitute when you’re forming regular wins, it will also pay directly, with up to 125x the stake offered on each line it takes over fully.
Hyper Strike gives the game its name, and it’s a very simple feature, which requires that you land 3 to 9 of its logo scatters. These can appear only on the reels 2, 3 and 4. Depending on their exact number in a single spin, wins can be as high as 2,000x the stake.
If we’re looking at the free spins, we find a much more interesting feature, and the potential appears to be just as high, if not higher. Triggered via scatters which have the Free Spins logo, and which land on the three middle reels, it will result in a bonus game.
A Bonus Wheel spins for you, to decide what kind of feature you will get. If another set of scatters lands during free spins, the same combination of free spins and multipliers will be repeated.
As for the actual options that are available to you on the wheel, there are six variants there, ranging from 10 free spins where all wins get multiplied by 2x, to 30 free spins with the wins multiplied by 3x.
Theme & Design
If you care about a game’s story, and you like something pretty to look at, then Hyper Strike might not be a great choice. It’s a classic, with symbols mostly relying on three variants of the Lucky 7s, Bar logos, Dollar Signs, Bells and Cherries. Feature symbols use logos of the game or of themselves. All in all, while the quality of the design is good enough, it’s only enough not to get in the way, it doesn’t add to the experience.
Hyper Strike gives the player mostly common features and slightly above average rewards. It’s not a bad game, it can be fun to play and it addresses the needs of a wide variety of players, but it’s not set to impress either.
