King Tusk is a game that Microgaming has designed, and a slot machine where the theme revolves around Africa’s majestic elephants. You see these huge creatures in more than one symbol and in features as well, with the setting for the gamer being in the African savannah.
The game that you’re going to find here will have 5 reels and a total of 25 active win lines. You will have access to Gone Wild features, to Stampedes and The Dance, these all being different types of free spins. Scatters and wilds, the more regular features of the slot industry, are also present.
Betting and Prizes
The game will give you the option to spend as little as $0.01 for a single line, with all the lines being required to be active. You can end up with a wager of just $0.25 for one spin, but apparently you can go as high as $62.50 as well. In that case, the line bet would reach a maximum value of $2.50.
You can count on the average RTP to be good in Microgaming slot machines, at least in these modern titles. The top jackpot might not be impressive, and in fact it is often not that way, but the slot makes up for it in other areas.
King Tusk Slot Features
The wild symbol is the one that shows you the large male elephant, alone and facing in your direction. Wild symbols are usable as part of new combinations, even if they have regular symbols in them. They are not replacements for scatters though.
Mystery Wild is a feature that appears to be coming at random. It’s going to provoke a stampede of elephants that will go over a reel, turning all positions on it into wilds. Out of the 25 active lines that will benefit from these wilds, some of them are bound to be able to use the symbols to form new combinations.
The scatter symbol, which is the one that has a King Tusk logo, will appear three times or more during the rounds where you get access to the free spins. There are actually three variants to choose from. Gone Wild will give you 10 free spins where all elephant symbols are turned into wilds. Stampede also has 10 free spins, but here there are two reels which are turned into wild reels. Finally, The Dance gives you up to five wild elephants on the reels, for the duration of the 10 free spins.
Theme & Design
King Tusk gives us a safari inspired theme that has been part of the offer at a lot of developers over time and even Microgaming has other titles that have the same topic. The difference seems to come from the focus on the African elephant, rather than using all wild animals from the region on the reels. Look at the background, and that image will sport pictures with rhinos, giraffes and other creatures, in a sepia colored view of the savannah. Move to the actual reels, and on them the symbols are often going to have elephants in them, as entire families, males alone or mothers with their babies. The card icons get various small animals from Africa as companions.
King Tusk looks like the kind of slot machine that I could appreciate from Microgaming. The developer worked hard on its design and features, and it shows in the experience offered by the slot.
