Lucky Twins Jackpot Slot Review
A collaboration between Pulse 8 Studios and Microgaming, Lucky Twins Jackpot is a sequel for another game that was released back in 2015. While the first game of the series has 5 reels, they turned it into a 3-reel classic for the second version, but kept the Chinese wealth and luck theme, and improved on some of its graphics and payouts.
They ended up with a slot which spins 3x3 reels and has 5 paylines active. With their help, and especially thanks to the bonus game, you can get paid up to 10,000x the stake ($150,000), in a slot with high volatility and a disappointing RTP of 93.92%. Among its features, the game mentions wilds, scatters and the bonus game.
Betting and Prizes
You have 5 lines in Lucky Twins Jackpot, where the lowest that you can go with your wager is $0.05, so $0.01 is going to each line. The maximum bet is limited to a value of $15, which means that in that case you’d be using $3 on each active line.
Those that check out only the game’s paylines and the combinations that will form there, are likely to be disappointed with the 200x top prize that’s possible, meaning up to $3,000. Things start looking up once you trigger the bonus game though, as even the second best payout will do better than the base game. Get the best possible reward, the Grand Jackpot, and the bet of the round will be returned to you 10,000 times. This means that a $150,000 top prize is available, though it’s not going to be easy to trigger.
This is visible in the game’s volatility, which is High, but also in the very low 93.92% RTP, which is the game’s biggest downside.
It’s not quite a unique or particularly interesting set of features, but it’s not what you’d expect from the usual 3-reel classic slot either.
First of all, the Lucky Twins are your wilds, and these symbols are expected to show up on the reels 2 and 3. From those two reels, the wilds participate in whatever new combinations they can contribute to, if they land on the right line and they have the right symbols in the other positions. They will not be used to trigger the bonus game, so they are substitutes only for regular symbols.
The other non-regular symbol, the scatter, takes the form of a Gold Ingot, in the usual shape that the Chinese used. Have this one appearing three times in any position on the three reels, to trigger a bonus game. This is the part which should get your heart racing, as you get a shot at that 10,000x top jackpot.
You make your picks, on a screen with 9 Lucky Cats (3x3 layout, same as the base game). This reveals what’s hidden behind them, and you want to find three Jackpot symbols of the same type. The target is to the Grand Jackpot (10,000x the stake), but there are also alternatives for the Major (300x the stake) or Minor Jackpots (50x).
Theme & Design
It’s quite a common theme and type of design, with Chinese culture often resulting in this sort of game, with gold and red being predominant colors. The quality is high, always a plus for a 3-reel game, but some of the symbols are just basic Royals. The others show us logos, gold ingots, firecrackers, coin bags, amulets and lucky cats.
Lucky Twins Jackpot doesn’t offer a good enough RTP to be a decent alternative, which is a shame, since the 3-reel category can use some decent high volatility options that can pay well.
