Neon Valley Studios
Independent Game Development Studio

It was after that Microgaming announced its partnership in September 2019 that this studio was revealed to the public. Until then it had been working under the radar but it was clearly doing something right otherwise it wouldn’t have been noticed by Microgaming.

It was the studios’ inventive and unique approach to games that got them their partnership. So far they have released only two games: Atlantean Treasures Mega Moolah and Aurora Wilds, however, more amazing games are expected from this developer.

Features

Aurora Wilds is a slot game that has 5 reels, 4 rows, and 10 paylines. Its RTP is 96.20% which means it kicks back a reasonable amount back to players. There game’s symbols are made up of a bunch of totem animals like a green turtle, a blue fish, red hawk, a purple rabbit, and an orange zebra. Accompanying these symbols is the lucky 7 symbol as well as a bar symbol.

The butterfly is the wilds symbol and it usually appears on the second, third, or fourth reel. If the player gets a butterfly then it expands and turns a whole reel into the Expanding feature. The player can also trigger a Respin feature. Finally, the player can also trigger a Jackpot feature which awards one of four different jackpots.

The second game in the studio’s portfolio is Atlantean Treasures Mega Moolah which is also a slot game with 5 reels and 10 paylines. It has an RTP of 92.08% signifying its medium volatility. Since the inspiration for the game is Atlantean then the symbols for it are fishy. Colorful creatures of the see are the symbols and they include various fish and seahorses. A blue 7 symbol along with a Bar symbol are also featured.

The purple-haired mermaid is the Wilds symbol and it can replace every single except the progressive triggering ones. The player can activate an Expanding and Respin feature in this game as well. Another feature the play can activate is the Progressive Wheel one which gives one of 4 jackpots (Mini, Minor, Major, or Mega).

Design

The first game takes a Native American approach to the theme design. The reels window is located on the center of the screen and the background is a picturesque view of a lake, some hills, trees, and a night sky.

The second game goes for an Atlantean theme as it is obvious from the symbols and the title. The screen is a little bit to the right with the jackpots featured on the left. When it comes to the background the games take the player in the depths of the sea.

The player’s table is located at the bottom of the screen in both games. This table lets the player set the bet amount, activate the auto-spin feature, and tweak the game’s settings. Players can also enjoy these games on the go and from the comfort of their homes.

Wagering

The betting limits for Aurora Wilds range from 0.10 to 60 credits whereas the ones for Atlantean Treasures Mega Moolah range from 0.10 to 200 credits. The type of credits will depend on the type of currency used. Also, these wagering limits may or may not be seen in future games.

Verdict

When it comes to the games, it’s clear why Neon Valley Studios have managed to get the attention of Microgaming. Both feature amazing graphics and smooth gameplay. They’re quality games which mean Age of Conquest and other following games will be just as good if not better. Neon Valley Studios is off to a great start.
