Pirates Quest Slot Machine: Review & Demo

Pirates Quest Slot Demo

A quest for treasures is always a good story, provided that the developer does everything else right. Gong Gaming Technologies, together with Microgaming, are offering us just that type of theme in their newest slots, Pirate’s Quest. There is a good reason why these slot machines are so often released by developers, the fact that players don’t seem to get tired of them easily, so this one also has a decent chance at being popular.

In an online slot which has the potential to pay as much as 2,000x what the round’s stake was worth, you’re also looking at a High volatility rating and a 96% RTP. It sounds fair enough overall, and it’s a slot which offers a wild symbol, along with symbol collection which could add multipliers of up to 10x for the free spins. Setup wise, it’s got 5x3 reels and 25 win lines.

Pirate’s Quest Betting and Prizes

Pick whatever wager you can afford, but you need to keep the choice within the range that is allowed, where the minimum is $0.25 and the maximum goes to $125.

The ultimate payout that a single spin can deliver, will bring you $250,000 cash, or 2,000x the stake. There might be potential for more during the free spins, but the game has a cap on how much it will pay. 5-symbol Wild combinations will pay up to 200x the stake, even before multipliers apply.

Pirate’s Quest is a game which is supposed to have High volatility, but we’re also seeing 96% RTP, so it works out. The top payouts appear to be somewhat low though, considering the risk that’s undertaken by players.

Slot Features

Treasure Chest wilds will be there to both assist you when they can act as substitutes, and to form combinations among themselves when they appear 2+ times on a line, and from left to right. Their own wins are the biggest that the game can deliver, by quite a bit, since you get 200x the stake for a full line.

There are 10 different pirate ship symbols in Pirate’s Quest slot, which you may get on the reels. Each of these will contribute to a special meter, shown on the left side. There, you see a ship advance towards a multiplier, to be used once the free spins trigger. You keep advancing there, and going from 1x to 2x, 3x and so on, until you get to 10x.

Look for the Free Spins logos on the reels, to gain access to the free spins. Whatever multiplier is achieved on the Map at that point, will be transferred to the feature, to be applied to all wins. You trigger the feature initially with 3 to 5 scatters, which gets you 10 to 50 free spins. Retriggering is done with 1 to 5 additional scatters, which will add 2 to 50 more rounds to the total.

Theme & Design

It’s a common theme, related to pirates and treasures. The graphics look average at best, especially for the pirate category, which is filled with gorgeous designs, and it’s hard to compete. It’s not quite ugly, but it looks like a clumsy effort.

Symbols will range from Pirate Ships, to Free Spins logos, Treasure Chest Wilds, and regulars with images of the Pirate, Parrot, Cannon, Pirate Hat, Rum bottle, and wax seals with 9 to A Royals stamped on them.

Conclusion

Pirate’s Quest is looking like a fine option, and the chance to collect symbols and increase the multiplier is a nice one, since even if it takes you longer to get into the free spins, there are decent odds that the multiplier will be better by the time you do reach them. Overall though, it’s not looking like the sort of game that you play for years, more like a short term option.
