The American Wild West is a hugely popular topic, and not just for slot machines, as movies, TV series and even video games have gotten a lot of attention over the years. Microgaming decided to try and bank on that, and they’ve been working hard to have Showdown Saloon ready.
In a game with 5 reels/15 paylines, you can expect for a maximum of 750x the stake to be yours in a round, which would mean $75,000 at most in this case. With wild symbols, re-spins, stacked mystery symbols, free spins and multipliers all available, the feature list is looking as good as the slot’s story. Even the RTP is at an acceptable level, of 96.05%, so you get good reasons to check Showdown Saloon out.
Betting and Prizes
Betting wise, we seem to be looking at a system which allows for $0.20 to $100 to be used per spin, which would mean 20 coins of $0.01 to $5 each. In exchange, the game delivers 15 paylines.
The top payout in Showdown Saloon will apparently go as high as 750x the stake, giving you a chance at wins of up to $75,000 if you’ve been using the maximum bet. We also know that the RTP is going to be set to 96.05%, which gives its players a pretty good return in the long run, consistent with what is generally available from modern slots worth playing.
This isn’t the type of game to offer only one or two features, so at least it shouldn’t get boring too quickly.
For starters, whenever you see the Royal Flush icon make an appearance, expect for it to contribute to some smaller win. As the wild symbol, it can be combined with any of the regular symbols which will use the lines to form combinations, and its role will be that of a substitute for whatever is needed.
This is also the type of game to make use of stacked mystery icons, though they’re not quite as useful here as in other slots where I’ve seen them. The game will take the first two stacks of mystery icons, and those it will always turn into the same random icon. Any additional stacks after that can get transformed into another symbol, and apparently this can include the scatters which trigger free spins.
Re-spins will also be available, and these trigger when you have matching stacked symbols on the three middle columns. The columns in question become locked, and the re-spins continue for as long as new stacked symbols of that type land. If any mystery symbols come in, they get transformed to the symbols which are locked.
There are also 5 to 15 free spins which can be activated in the game. You do this via stacked scatters, which need to appear on adjacent reels, and starting from the 1st column. 1x to 3x multipliers are also available for these spins.
Theme & Design
It’s a relatively common, but very exciting nonetheless, Wild West inspired story. You’re seeing cowboys on those reels, along with playing cards, the Royal Flush, six-shooters, whiskey, shells and poker chips. It’s a fairly attractive design, so this part is definitely not something to worry about.
Showdown Saloon will deliver a decent RTP, somewhat average top payouts, but plenty of features and the sort of theme that almost everyone loves.
