Space Enigma Slot Review

Space Enigma Slot Small Image

Space Enigma, a game that All41Studios is designing for exclusive use on Microgaming’s platforms, is a slot machine which will feel oddly familiar, and once you remember how NetEnt’s Starburst plays, you will know why. It’s a bit of a gemstone/space themed combo, and it is the kind of game that you might expect casinos to offer you for their free spins/bonus offers.

They chose a 5-reel setup, added 10 paylines in that standard game area, and then turned this into a game with decent RTP and medium volatility. You get decent top payouts, though at 1,000x, one can’t say that the slot will be that interesting for most players. You have only one or two features, including the expanding Star Wilds and their Re-spins.

Betting and Prizes

You have 10 active lines, and you get 10 coins to use in every single bet that you place inside. The value of the total bet changes, but the number of coins stays the same. You end up changing only the line bet, or coin value if you will, between $0.01 and $10. At most, you can end up with a wager of $100, but the starting point is at a much more acceptable $0.10.

As for the prizes that Space Enigma will deliver, those will go as high as 1,000x the stake, and that’s for a single spin. While individual lines pay up to 50x the stake, the 10 lines will pay both ways, so you get the equivalent of 20 lines when you fill the reels with the right symbols. The resulting payout could mean up to $100,000, depending on the symbol and the wager that was used for that spin.

Otherwise, the game is one that has medium volatility, and you can expect for about 1 in 5 rounds to bring you a win (19.86%). The slot’s RTP is at the right level, 96.27%, though that’s pretty much average right now.

Space Enigma Slot Features

Don’t go in expecting a lot of features out of Space Enigma. The game does have the system where it forms combinations both ways, so your wins can start from either the leftmost or rightmost column, but other than that you get only one feature symbol.

That one feature symbol is the Star Wild. It’s an expanding wild as well, one that you can have land on the middle three reels. It’s not paying anything when it does this, but as it expands and takes over its reel, it also locks in place and gives you 1 re-spin. Should additional wilds land and expand on the other two reels, you get additional re-spins. You can end up with three wild reels and three re-spins, at most, each one paying up to 1,000x the stake.

Theme & Design

It’s not much of a theme, unfortunately. You might be getting a star-filled background image, with modern graphics and high quality overall, but the symbols are just a mix of gemstones that take different geometric shapes. The most notable one would probably be the Star-shaped gemstone, acting as the wild.  The others are just similarly elaborate gems, cut into various shapes and coming in different colors.

Conclusion

Space Enigma looks like an alternative to a NetEnt slot machine which has taken the casino world by storm in the last couple of years, but there is nothing extra to make it special, it looks like a clone.
