Sunset Showdown gets you a Wild West themed slot, one where the two heroes appear to be women, both of them armed with six shooters though, and looking like one is the sheriff, while the other is the bandit. The game was delivered by Microgaming, and it doesn’t look like a very modern title, yet it is still a slot that fans of the genre will enjoy. Its symbols look good, plenty of work seems to have went into them, and they will be accompanied by features, such as the bonus game, the wild or the scatter. The slot holds its 25 pay lines on the 5 reels that most modern games will offer. Its payouts will get up to $18,750.
Betting and Prizes
As I mentioned already, 25 pay lines are employed by this game, and combinations will form on them if they are active. To activate a pay line, you need a minimum of one coin reserved for it in the wager, though you have the option to wager with up to 10 per line. There are also coin values to consider, those going from $0.01 to $0.25. The most you can spend for one line is $2.50, while for 25 of them active you need up to $62.50.
As you will see for yourself in the paytable, there are payouts which will reach 7,500x in this game, up to 75,000 coins offered in exchange for the right combo. The highest possible value for such a symbol will be at $18,750.
Sunset Showdown Slot Features
A wild symbol with a 2x multiplier is one important feature that Sunset Showndown slot will rely on to keep players spinning those reels. A wild might be useful because it doubles wins it helps form, but in this case it is also capable of paying very well by itself. A combo of up to five Cowgirls (the wild’s image) will give you a reward of up to 75,000 coins.
The wild has one role in this slot that you will find in few others. If you should land the Cowgirl wild on the 1st and 5th columns, you will get 3 free spins from the game, with those two reels having expanding wilds locked on them.
The Revolver, the scatter of Sunset Showdown, gives you prizes also, but it does this by appearing in up to five positions in view, not by occupying a fixed line. It will reward you with up to 100 times the wager, and it will also manage to trigger the bonus game. You have to shoot bad guys, which are hiding around the town. You will get a reward for each bad guy that is shot.
Theme & Design
This Microgaming online slot has a pretty good design, but it’s not the best Wild West themed game I’ve seen. I enjoyed seeing that poker cards used here actually look like they belong, like they might’ve been used by people sitting in some saloon. Other symbols give you money bags, boots, saddles, revolvers and the cowgirl, along with a cowboy.
Sunset Showndown has a few good things going for it, and I imagine that most players will love it if they usually go for games which have this theme.
