Wild Catch Slot Review
Wild Catch is a joint release, from Microgaming and Stormcraft Studios, which follows in the footsteps of another slot machine that the former has launched years ago. They’re coming back with another version of the game, with the same title but otherwise it’s a brand new release, which stands on its own feet.
You have a fairly large game area here, 5x5 reels being enough to host even more than the 50 lines that Wild Catch is using. The experience is going to have a higher degree of volatility to it, but as the top payout goes up to 9,000x the stake, and the RTP to 96.30%, I’d say that it’s an appealing choice anyway. If you’re interested in the features that this game includes, you will discover that it uses Splashing Wilds, scatters and free spins of three types (with up to 25x multipliers possible inside).
Betting and Prizes
To get started, all you have to do is select a wager, and the upcoming spin will be covered. The minimum bet available is $0.20, while the highest one can reach $20. Whatever the level of the wager that you want to use, you get all 50 lines active.
Looking at the payout potential of this game, it’s not difficult to believe that you could get to its highest levels, since up to 25x multipliers become possible during some of its features. The downside is that the game is obviously not going to make it easy for you, and so the volatility is very high. Up to 9,000x the stake can be paid by the game’s best free spins, meaning up to $180,000 cash that can be delivered if you make a $20 investment per spin. I should also mention the RTP, at 96.30%, which is high enough for a slot.
Wild Catch Slot Features
Wild symbols are quite a bit of fun when you get them in the right way. The game has Splashing Wilds, a random feature which is based on the regular wild symbol. If it triggers for you, it will turn the middle three reels into full wilds, which means that you are guaranteed to win then. It triggers for about 1 out of 122 spins, but that’s just the average, it could go either way for individual players.
As fun as the wilds can get, the free spins will also provide you with a lot of cool options. Triggering them is done via the usual 3 to 5 scatters, and in exchange the game gives you the option of picking one of the three types of free spins. You start off with Crystal Lake, and then you can get Emerald Creek and Golden Rapids in time (after triggering the free spins 5 and 10 times, respectively). They all use Rolling Reels to boost multipliers.
Crystal Lake has low volatility, 15 free spins, and the Multiplier Trail goes from 1x to 10x.
Emerald Creek has its volatility set to medium, offer 10 free spins, and a Multiplier Trail from 3x to 15x.
Golden Rapids is the high volatility option, with 10 free spins which have Multipliers from 5x to 25x.
Growing Wilds are included in the free spins section, which can be collected, for a chance at a fixed jackpot of up to 2,000x the stake.
Theme & Design
It’s a nature and fishing themed game, and a pretty good looking one at that. Stormcraft did a good job designing its symbols, which range from logos, to various images of anglers, lures, bait buckets and fishing rods. A gorgeous image of a mountain lake is shown in the background.
Wild Catch is a fun new release from Microgaming and Stormcraft Studios, with high volatility, big rewards and a fun mix of features.
