Dr Wildshock: Mad Loot Lab Slot Machine: Review & Demo
Gold Coin Studios and Microgaming are set to release a new slot machine together in the coming months, and the name they’ve given it is Dr. Wildshock Mad Loot Lab. Predictably enough, it’s a game that has a mad scientist kind of theme, but one that can be hugely profitable, and that’s always great to see.
Dr. Wildshock Mad Loot Lab was designed to offer a Cluster Pays system, where you form combinations just by having symbols grouped up together. They made sure to add huge rewards in it, up to 25,000x the stake being paid at its best, but that’s only possible because it is highly volatile as well. Nonetheless, the RTP is at 96.26%, and that’s good enough. I’ve discovered a variety of good features inside, such as regular and exploding wilds, increasing multipliers, rolling reels, or free spins.
Dr. Wildshock Mad Loot Lab Slot Betting and Prizes
There will be a range for the bets available to you, and they start at $0.20 and could go as high as $10.
You will be going after top wins of up to 25,000x the stake, which is excellent for any modern slot machine. There are plenty of games that can pay very well these days, and Dr. Wildshock Mad Loot Lab is one of them.
Highly volatile, it will have a decent long-term Return to Player, of 96.26%, so I consider it a fair option if you can get a version using these numbers (Microgaming slots tend to have several RTP values lately).
Features
You can form a winning combination when you have enough symbols lined up on the same reel or row. 3 or more symbols are needed, and for the best rewards, you’d need to fill that reel/row with 5 symbols.
Rolling Reels come after any winning combination that is formed. It isn’t any different from what you get in other slots, so it removes the symbols that were in the combo, allowing new ones to drop in. Rolls keep going if you keep forming combinations this way.
A bit of help will come from the yellow wilds, symbols that are acting as substitutes in any new combinations that are forming.
Red wilds are the ones you really want though, since they explode when they’re part of wins, and give you up to 4 more wilds during the roll that comes next. As you have some wilds on the reels already, the new ones could drop on them, and give their multipliers a boost. They can also do the same for exploding wilds, giving them a multiplier.
Another use for the wild is as a boost for the overall multiplier used that spin. It remains higher for the rest of the spin and then resets before the next one begins. To get that boost, the wild needs to be part of a combo though, it’s not enough just to land on the reels.
The game displays a number of wilds that you need to collect in a single round, in order to trigger the free spins. Anywhere from 3 to 8 wilds will get you 10 free spins, which you then retrigger and get only 3 more spins each time.
Theme & Design
They’ve gone for the usual evil scientist route here, and it worked out well for them. You’re seeing a design that shows off a modern lab in the background, with radioactive green being one of the colors of choice.
As for the symbols, besides the wilds, you see images of the scientist, of ray guns, robots, remote controls, lab equipment, magnets, or rats.
Conclusion
Dr. Wildshock: Mad Loot Lab looks and plays well, it can pay more than the average slot machine, and overall it’s just a good option for experienced players that don’t mind its higher volatility.
