Wonder Woods Slot Review
Microgaming’s collaboration with Just For The Win continues, and Wonder Woods is the latest slot to be announced by the latter. We get a slot with medium volatility and fruit-based symbols, though the impression is that it’s a fantasy title, based on the enchanted forest image from the background.
In Wonder Woods, we have 5 reels to spin, 20 lines to create combinations on, and up to 400x top payouts to win in a single round. The slot does well enough, and it keeps the RTP at 96.03%, while as bigger features we find things like free spins, sticky mystery symbols, wilds, scatters and wild reels.
Wonder Woods Betting and Prizes
You have a betting range that you can use as it is, selecting the total amount for the upcoming spin. The smallest bet possible is worth $0.10, while the highest you can go is $100 per spin.
It’s not the type of game to pay an impressive amount in a single spin, as its best combinations will offer at most 20x the stake. Since 20 active lines are used, that could get you at most 400x the stake in a single spin, or up to $40,000. It’s not the best payout around, particularly for a slot that’s supposed to have medium volatility.
On the other hand, we know that the game’s expected Return to Player is 96.03%, which is in line with what other similar slot machines are offering.
One of the first features that you’re going to notice in Wonder Woods, the Wild logo is light blue, and it has leaves and a tree behind it. It’s a substitute, naturally, but in addition to lower value combinations that it may help form, there are also its own wins that it could trigger. By itself, the wild symbol pays the same amount as the top jackpot.
Mystery symbols are also in play, and they come in while taking the form of the Question Mark. As usual, the symbols of this type will all get transformed into a single random icon.
It’s just as easy to spot when the scatter symbol appears in view, since it has a Free Spins logo that it uses. You need 3, 4 or 5 of these visible, or you don’t get anything. The reward will consist of either 8, 10 or 12 free games. Whenever mystery symbols appear, they are transformed into sticky icons, and so you can use them until the feature is over, especially in the later rounds, when there are more of them present.
If you manage to cover an entire reel with mystery symbols, then you’re going to find that the column transforms into a stacked wild. This one also sticks around for the rest of the free games.
Theme & Design
It’s looking like an enchanted forest, but that’s not what you’re going to see on the reels. The pretty graphics, cartoon-style and very well crafted, make sure that the game has the right atmosphere. As I said, the symbols don’t have as much in common with that theme though. For one, low value symbols give us Royals, though the quality is decent in their case. Next, we have symbols for features, with question marks and logos used there. High value symbols rely on classic fruits, so you see oranges, grapes and cherries, while the game logo pays the top jackpot.
Wonder Woods does alright graphics wise, and even though the theme is mostly a classic one, I think you will find enough to enjoy thanks to its features. I’m not terribly happy about the potential of only 400x the stake though.
