The Care at Home Trust is a charity that has been established in the name of Diana, the Princess of Wales. Based in Isle of Man, it’s the only one to provide services of home care in the region, giving residents a chance at end-of-life and respite care, and it’s all done in the home of the resident, not in a hospital. The availability of high quality care from nurses means that both the patient and their loved ones benefit and have support. The Trust gives patients free care worth of more than 1,000 hours per year, and donations are important in order for them to be able to do this.
Ron Spencer, the Chairman of the Trust, declares that they’ve doubled the number of free care hours since 2012, now reaching a total of 1,400. Microgaming’s $5,000 donation should help considerably in their efforts of expanding their nursing care facilities further, to meet the demand that will appear in 2016.
As for Microgaming’s statement, they mention how important this charity is, and how important its services are for those that need them. The funds which are donated now come from a poker tournament which was hosted with charity in mind, and the amount of over £5,000 was raised then.
