The MPN Network has just announced the Universal Championship of Poker, or UCOP for short, the third time that this event is organized by them. UCOP III comes with a total of €750,000 in guaranteed prizes, to be offered for the 59 different poker tournaments that will take place in September. The player that gets the title of “Greatest Poker Player in the Universe” will also go home with a cash prize of €5,000 and a trophy.
The leaderboard that tracks the progress of the players in UCOP will have prizes totaling €10,000, out of which €5,000 will go to the winner, along with that shiny trophy.
Besides the official Greatest Poker Player leaderboard, there will also be another one called Great Players, with payouts totaling €5,000. In this leaderboard, the rewards will go to the players that help the poker game grow, that live for it and which help others as well. To get points for this leaderboard, you need to be a streamer that uses Facebook Live, YouTube or Twitch to stream as you play in the tournaments. Extra points are offered to the players that have very interesting streams on each day.
Alex Scott, from Microgaming, declared that UCOP is back, and that it is bigger than last year, and also better. They’ve started out with guaranteed prizes of €250,000 in 2015, then they doubled them to €500,000 in 2016, and in 2017 they grow once again, to €750,000. Players from Adjarabet will join UCOP as well for this edition.
If you’re interested in this event, you can give it a go, with satellites already available that start from amounts as small as €0.11.
