In an attempt to shake things up in the table games category, Microgaming has just signed a partnership with Switch Studios, so that they would create content for them exclusively.
Switch Studios is a UK company, which has its HQ in Ipswich. They’re experts in social gaming and gambling, and they are passionate about games and the features which they build for them. They aim to personalize the gameplay in the titles they release, and all that experience will be used in the future to create table games for operators using the Microgaming platform.
For starters, the partnership will result in the creation of a game of Roulette, which will be inspired by the classic variant. It will involve a roulette wheel with a 3D design, where the ball will move as it would in real life. This game relies on a new game engine, which will allow for special bets, favorites and racetrack betting. The engine was created especially for use on mobile devices, allowing for both landscape and portrait mode selection, so that the user can switch around as needed. Needless to say, the experience will be an immersive one.
With the help of Switch Studios, Microgaming aims to disrupt the table games category, and this first title is just the start of it. The studio is an important part of the strategy that Microgaming will implement going forward. Another aim of theirs is to create bespoke games for operators, so that their player bases will get what they need.
With this new Roulette game, they’re placing the foundation for a new group of table games which will be developed exclusively by Switch Studios and will then be released at Microgaming casinos. In the next couple of months new titles will be announced, including a new Blackjack.
The new game and the partnership with this new company will be announced by Microgaming at SiGMA, between November 28th and 30th 2018.
The CEO of Microgaming, John Coleman, mentioned how this move to bring Switch Studios as a partner will help his company enhance their collection of table games, while also innovating in the field. He mentions that the studio already has experience designing casino games which are sophisticated and stylish.
As for Switch Studios, Tom David is their Head of Studio. He said that they have a background in eGaming, social and mobile sectors, which gives them an advantage in bringing innovation to this category. They aim to offer a mix of classic style table games which will be enjoyable for players.
