The developer mentioned that they’re committed to reducing the amount of waste that they’re producing for the duration of ICE 2019 at their stand, which you can find at ExCeL London. They will give their visitors extensive facilities for recycling, will use as little plastic as possible at the bar, and then they will reuse or recycle the stand materials, once the show is over.
The work they’ve done so far has lead up to this, and this includes the way they’ve designed the main HQ of the company, on Isle of Man. It opened in 2017, and it gave the staff an eco-friendly work environment, being among the first on that island to get a rating as Excellent from BREEAM.
As other events come by, Microgaming wants to keep reusing 75% or more of their stand’s structure, while recycling all the stand graphics. The materials will be disposed in a responsible manner, once the event is over.
The same policy will be in use at the bar, with the water bottles and coffee cups which are made out of plastic being replaced with compost-ready cups or water cans made out of aluminum. Those serving at the bar, will offer glass bottles which are recyclable, as well as coffee cups without plastic, or wine goblets which will biodegrade in just three months. Where possible, they will also compost the food waste and coffee grounds. The meals for the staff will be served in packaging that is also friendly to the environment.
All these plans, which Microgaming has in mind for ICE 2019, have been inspired by various initiatives and activities which have been promoted via PlayItForward. This includes the Eco Warriors program, which is led by their employees.
The PlayItForward initiative covers all the CSR aspects, with a focus on the community, charity, education, health and sport. Being environmentally sustainable is also a major part of that.
