Microgaming has announced that they have signed a deal with Big Time Gaming (BTG), which will allow them to include the popular Megaways mechanic in several of their upcoming slot titles.
Microgaming, together with a number of independent studios from its network, will be able to integrate this mechanic in new titles in the future. For the first release that will do this, they mention Shamrock Holmes, a slot which will be available to operators in January.
The initial launch of the Megaways system was in 2016, when BTG used it as a way to get more engagement from players in slot machines, giving them a gaming experience which was faster and more dynamic. With this system, each spin can get a different number of symbols and the number of ways to win can go into the hundreds of thousands as a result.
According to Microgaming CEO, John Coleman, this system has had a lot of success over the years, and they are looking forward to integrating it into their new titles. They mention how BTG have proven themselves as innovators, and that they are delighted that they can extend their current relationship with the company.
As for Nik Robinson, the CEO of Big Time Gaming, he says that they want to bring this system to a much bigger audience, and the biggest step that they could’ve made in this direction was a deal with Microgaming. He says that they’re pioneers of the industry, and that they’re one of the top forces of the gaming community.
