Aurum Signature Studios is preparing to release a brand new slot on Microgaming’s network, and this time they’ve come up with Book of Mrs Claus. It’s designed to appeal to players that enjoy this category of high volatility games already, and it doesn’t change much about its mechanics, relying on its theme to get their attention for the most part.
Book of Mrs Claus will have the usual 10 paylines, and 5x3 reels are going to spin each round. 5,000x the stake is the most that a player can collect, and the free spins will be the time when that’s most likely to happen. With its high volatility, the slot is not for everyone, but RTP-wise it’s looking better than a lot of other related games, since it’s at 96.50%. The standard mix of special features were implemented, so we’re seeing wild/scatter Books and the free spins where certain symbols will expand.

Each reel can get a respin or more, but you need to pay whenever this happens. The cost varies, so if you have a chance at a high paying combo, it will be much more expensive to use.
Book of Mrs Claus is a common option in its category, when it comes to its other features. The main symbol is the one showing the Book, and mostly you’re going to use this one as a substitute, helping out any other type of regular symbol to form combinations.
There is also the role of scatter though, which comes in handy if you can get 3 to 5 of these symbols on the reels at the same time. This triggers 10 to 25 free spins.
During the free games, there is a regular symbol that gets the ability to expand, if this leads to a winning combo. You need these symbols on 3+ random reels, so that they can expand and form winning combinations on all lines. They pay as scatters on those lines, so their exact position doesn’t matter.
Theme & Design
The theme they went with is going to revolve around the image of Mrs Claus. She’s been seen in a number of slots before, so it’s not exactly unique, but it makes for a good theme for the winter holidays. Plenty of snow, and Mrs Claus’ house, are visible in the background.
When we get to the reels, we discover the five low paying Royals at first, followed by images of the Owl, Fox, Reindeer, and Mrs Claus. The Book is the only feature symbol.
Conclusion
Book of Mrs Claus could be a decent alternative to the many other classic Book slots that are already available. There aren’t many that have a Christmas theme though, and which also deliver great RTP, so those are two major advantages that could make this game a popular option.
