The world of magic has served as inspiration for plenty of slots in the past, and Magic Boxes is no exception. You will discover in it a Microgaming slot machine which offers magic related objects, with a design that is below average for this particular category of games. It has as features a scatter, free spins and wilds. You can get paid a maximum of $10,000 by playing this 5 reel slot with its 25 lines.
Betting and Prizes
Magic Boxes will allow for wagers to be modified in multiple ways, in order to reach the amount you’re comfortable spending for each spin. The number of lines is going to go from 1 to 25, but this is one area where I’d recommend you stick with the maximum. You can also change the value of the coins that you’re about to use, but they will go only from $0.01 to $0.20. For an even better control of the line bet, you can have anywhere from 1 to 20 coins for each line, which could mean as much as $4. Based on the number of available lines, you can have up bets of up to $100.
Rewards of 50,000 coins are mentioned by the game, offered when there are five scattered Eight Balls on the reels. It’s a reward of 100x the bet value, which is kind of average. The value would go up to $10,000.
Magic Boxes Slot Features
The main feature offered in Magic Boxes seems to be the round of free spins, the one that you get with help from scattered Eight Ball icons. You need 3, 4 or 5 such symbols, and in exchange you win 8, 16 or 24 free spins, respectively. You can retrigger the free spins, if luck holds out. In addition, you also get cash prizes for 2 or more Eight Balls present, which can be at 2x to 100x the wager.
While using free spins, you will notice Wild Magic Boxes appearing, the game having three types of such symbols. They are used on reels 2, 3 and 4, as wild symbols with multipliers that are at 2x, 3x and 4x.
The same Wild Magic Boxes are used during the base game spins as well, but they don’t have any multipliers to offer at that point.
Theme & Design
With a theme that appears to get inspiration from magic, Magic Boxes slot does not have anything impressive about it. There are a number of competitors with impressive graphics, but Magic Boxes isn’t one of those magic slots that are a lot of fun. It has some related images, like the Eight Ball, the magic boxes, the top hats or the spinners, but there are also incredibly boring poker cards.
Magic Boxes gives you a rather average design, with features that could be described the same way, plus payouts which are too low. Overall, it is not a game that I would recommend.
