The tombs of pharaohs have been regular treasure troves, and so they’ve inspired developers as well. In Pharaoh’s Tomb slot, you will discover an Ancient Egypt based Microgaming slot, one of quite a few such titles to have come out of Microgaming. It’s a modern enough game, which employs older graphics perhaps, but well chosen. The slot has multipliers coming with its wilds, plus scatters and bonus games. 20 lines are used for 5 reels, a pretty common layout, and combinations can give you up to $120,000.
Betting and Prizes
This is going to be an expensive game if you let it, but there are options in there to reduce it to a minimum that even a penny slot player will be able to handle. You’re going to get 20 lines to use as you need to, for each one the game allowing for up to 20 coins to be in the wager. You can have 400 coins total, and since the denomination reaches a maximum of $1, you can spend $400 per spin.
Normally, the payout will go up to 3,000x, which could mean $60,000. The chance to double it is there if the wild helps you, so you can increase the value to $120,000, or 6,000x.
Pharaoh's Tomb Slot Features
The Pharaoh is a limited wild feature, and by that I mean that it only appears on two reels, the first and the last one. Should it appear, it will offer you a small prize for each wild that is present. Use it as a substitute most of the time, and expect it to double the wins it helps award.
The Scarab seems to be a more important symbol in this game, since it will act as a scatter and will give you prizes as well, not just features. The prizes are not that special, reaching 100x the wager for five symbols.
At the same time, should you have at least three scarabs, you will have the Pharaoh’s Tomb Bonus starting up. The bonus game lets you advance through three tombs, collecting the treasure if you manage to reach the end. You have to locate the key at each step, choosing one of the three sarcophagi present in the room you’re in. You also get prizes for each key that is found, not just for the end treasure, which pays 100x the triggering bet.
Theme & Design
Despite the decent quality of the design, I found it difficult to be impressed with the slot’s graphics or theme. The inspiration coming from Egypt, you get the explorer, you have maps, tools, along with pharaohs, scarabs and the Sphinx. There is nothing unusual there, most games have these symbols. The poker cards are present as well, and they are appropriately drawn and themed, looking like they’re inspired by Egypt (even though they didn’t use letters like these back then).
Pharaoh’s Tomb is not the best Egyptian themed slot machine you could play, so I would only recommend it if you really like the topic.
