Rhyming Reels – Old King Cole Slot Review
Old King Cole slot is based on an old nursery rhyme, and is one of four slots which were released in the Rhyming Reels series by Microgaming. Being inspired by that nursery rhyme, it includes the main character that is mentioned in the title, along with things like crowns or bowls with cereal. There is a list of available features as well, offering a scatter symbol, free spins, 7x multipliers and two types of wilds. The slot gets you 20 lines, and on them you can find combinations which will pay up to $12,500.
Betting and Prizes
This is one of those games which will give you the option to modify every single aspect of the wager. You will find the coin value first, as you go from left to right on the bottom row. It will go up to $0.50. The number of lines is next, allowing you to have 1 to 20 active. The coins are last, allowing for 10 coins to be used for each line. You can spend $100 for each round, using 200 coins to do so.
The wild’s combo will pay 2,500x, which can turn into a reward of 25,000 coins, and a value of $12,500.
Old King Cole Slot Features
The base game has one of the two wilds of the slot, and its image will be that of the slot logo, spelling Old King Cole on it. It’s a pretty regular type of wild, the kind that will both form combinations on its own, and which can also act as a substitute for the regular symbols which are on its payline. The wild is the one that can pay the biggest prize available in this slot.
The Crown would be the scatter, and you will use it from any random spot it happens to land on. You just need at least two in order to get a prize, while with at least three you will trigger free spins. The payouts that you can land will go up to 150x the wager value.
I enjoyed the free spins feature as well, which comes with 12 rounds for free and with multipliers that could get up to 7x. There is also the added benefit of an extra wild, which has the image of a Gold Record. You can use it as a substitute, even for other types of wilds, and it can even form combinations that pay up to 1,000x.
Theme & Design
Based on the nursery rhyme about Old King Cole, it will offer a number of medieval looking images on its reels, along with the usual set of poker cards which are much less impressive to look at. Overall, it’s a decent look for it, but you’re probably not going to be impressed.
Old King Cole gets you average payouts, but it makes up for that part with the multipliers from the free spins.
