The Polynesian culture and the tropical islands of the Pacific have long been a source of inspiration for various developers, and in Tiki Mania we have a slot machine that’s relying on the region to bring it some excitement. It’s a Microgaming release, with the kind of design that makes you wish you were actually there.
It’s been turned into a game with only 10 lines, but with the usual 5x3 reels to spin. It’s capable of paying quite well, 1,000x being just its Grand Jackpot, a fixed prize paid in one of its bonus features. Other features included in Tiki Mania will give you options like the scatters with free spins, or the re-spins with stacked wilds and the nudges that will have them covering full reels. Quite the exciting slot machine overall, a good game to try out.
Betting and Prizes
You have 10 lines to activate, so you will wager $0.10 or more, each spin. This gets you just the minimum bet of $0.01 to each line. From there, the wager can be increased, to as much as $10 per line, or $100 total.
Two different types of top payouts are offered in Tiki Mania. The slot’s bonus game will pay several fixed jackpots, the best of which is called Grand, capable of returning to you the stake at a 1,000x multiple (up to $100,000).
The second best reward will come from winning combinations, regular ones which pay up to 50x on each line, and 500x total for a screen filled of top paying symbols. Multipliers applied by the wilds during re-spins will help boost the prizes further.
Tiki Mania Slot Features
Some of the features available here are regular ones, others are a bit more special, and overall the game does well in getting our attention and then keeping it.
First, check out the Red Tiki, a wild symbol that will appear stacked on the 2nd and 4th reels. It might be stacked, but it behaves a bit like an expanding wild, since a Nudge will move it into position if it doesn’t cover the full reel. Either way, you get to use it as a substitute, and new combinations may be formed. At the same time, the wild’s appearance will trigger the Re-spin feature.
Re-spins will bring in new types of wilds, with up to 3x multipliers and colored in green, yellow or blue. These can appear on four out of five reels (2-5), and their multipliers will multiply each other. Re-spins continue for as long as you get new wilds.
In the other major feature of the game, the one giving you 10 free spins, you enter when you land 3+ Princess symbols on the reels.
As for the bonus game, this one you get if you collect coins via the wilds, and the potential rewards here will be either the Major (50x) or the Grand Jackpot (1,000x).
Theme & Design
The tropical paradise theme is one that players do seem to love, so we keep getting new such games from developers. The Polynesian culture has been a major influence on this category, and the Tiki statues are found in plenty of slots. They’re making a return here, along with symbols of a Princess, of coconut drinks, bongos, ukuleles and flowers. The unrelated symbols are the ones showing off the Royals.
Tiki Mania looks pretty good, has a decent mix of features that should keep things interesting, plus it doesn’t do badly when it comes to top payouts either.
